Inspired by the galley scene from the 1959 Hollywood epic of the same name, Ben-Hur is a time-based endurance performance featuring six performers uniformly exerting their physical prowess on a line of rowing machines raised above the audience. A popular Baltimore DJ leads the intense spectacle with a coordinated mix of beats and sounds which, at times, synchronizes with the performers, but also disrupts the flow, as the cacophony of rhythms becomes too much for the team to handle. Each performer surrenders to their exhaustion, as the work slowly collapses onto itself.
