In the performance video Lazarus, a group of pedestrian bystanders assembles to collectively move an immobile vehicle through city streets. In an encapsulation of social struggle, a group of black bodies forms a makeshift community to propel an individual forward. The seemingly simple action of pushing a car in need becomes a metaphor for black togetherness.
